My name is Shane, pleasure to meet you. My goal is to experience as much of this beautiful world as I can through travel, backpacking, camping, food, and art. In order to achieve this, I’ve converted my natural talents for distilling complex information and storytelling into a career as an instructional designer.

With over five years of workforce development experience, I specialize in the creation of eLearning, microlearning, nanolearning, and other asynchronous learning tools. My work involves collaborating with subject matter experts to design and develop responsive eLearning products that address specific learner needs.

I have a commitment to universal design, adult learning theory, antiracism, trauma-informed practice, and cultural responsiveness. These commitments allow me to create inclusive, effective, and powerful training.

This course, created in Rise, is an introduction to the Trans and Nonbinary communities for Behavioral Health Service Providers working for the County of San Diego. Content was developed in partnership with Trans Family Services, and all photos came from the Gender Spectrum Collection by Vice.

Supervising Non-Face-to-Face Investigations eLearning Sample

This Storyline360 course was created in collaboration with a subject matter expert and graphic designer. Its purpose is to support Adult Protective Services supervisors whose staff conduct virtual investigations. The course is fully navigable both by screen reader and keyboard. All screens meet or exceed WCAG 2.2 AA standards. All audio is recorded, engineered, and captioned by myself.
